Okay…so we have a cute little ape as our Apericots mascot. The problem is that we don’t know what to call him? We also need to create his personality. His/Her image is already one of the “best sellers” but we don’t know what to call him/her. We just keep referring to him/her as “our ape”, which just isn’t fair. He deserves a clever name.
We also feel that we need to define his personality. One person said that they envision the Ape’s personality as described below:
“He is a vegetarian. He likes modern composition and toned down colors. We think he might be colorblind but is too embarrassed to say so. He knows sign language and Spanish but not much else.”

Tell us what you think. What should we name him/her? What is the Ape’s personality? Respond to this post with your ideas. The best idea (as determined by our astute panel of creative judges) will receive a $25 gift certificate to www.apericots.com. Hurry, the poor little guy needs a name and identity.

Choco, hands down. I don’t know why… he just looks like a Choco!
ps: i am loving your merch and website. Found you on Etsy and I can’t wait to have my baby in Nov so I can buy some cuteness from you guys. We are waiting to find out what it is, otherwise I would already be all over it! Also loving the bum genius… we are registered for those!
I think his name should be Orzo. I, of course, just love all of your products and want to get some for my 3 month old boy. I also hope you start getting some toddler stuff for my daughter. Such great products!
Jarin
I think you already have named him he looks like an”Apericot” he is the same color as an apicot (?spelling?) and just is so cute!
I think he looks like a Pauly. lDon’t know why, just think it is cute.
He is lovable, goes with the flow. Just wants to be loved and fit in and then everything in his world is great!
louie.
He looks like a ‘Henry’ to me.
As for personality? His childlike wonder defines him as he finds joy in such simple things as making a wish on a dandelion or finding shapes in the clouds on a summer day. Henry’s refreshing innocence, curiosity, and love of nature should remind us all to slow down and appreciate the beauty that surrounds us.
I like the name Avery…..Avery the Ape….it sounds good, looks good…..
Care-free, fun-loving, easy-going ape
Love to play, eat banana’s, give kisses and hugs, and sing (well, ooh ooh, ahhh, ahhh counts as singing, right???!!!!???!!!)
Hi! His name came to me in the middle of the night!
Abe! Abe the Ape, so cute!! Abe is kind of guy that makes people smile and he likes to do a lot of hugging. He is super curious and is at his best when he has a lot of room to climb and run and explore. He also really likes cookies.
I might just be describing my own boys but that’s ok!
Good Luck you guys!!
Maynard the Ape. It is the name I gave my stuffed ape from childhood.

Curious, fearless and on the go. Sort of like my toddler.
He looks like a fargo!
My daughter says “Ahhh…George”. Don’t know if that gets you into copywright issues, but that’s what all monkeys are named in this house.
Fantastic idea and clothes! I’m happy to see thermals…hard sometimes to find heavier items for the winter!
I think Peri would be a cute name
Sebastian….not sure why, but I think it fits.
Seems like a conscientious sort of fellow!
His name is Bentley and he enjoys square dancing and blowing bubbles. He is an avid reader, especially of the fantasy genre, and as a middle child he likes to keep the peace.
I’d name him Noah. A playful and curious little ape
